Intercultural marriage has been compared to a game in which each partner has been provided with a different set of rules. Each is behaving according to a culturally-determined values, attitudes and behaviors. The tasks and routines of daily life, interactions with extended family, raising children are all situations in which cultural systems can clash and cause misunderstandings and conflict or sometimes, something to laugh about. Intercultural relationships are an adventure providing continual opportunities for learning and personal development but it is a journey full of challenges that must be faced in order to take full advantage of the opportunities. Join us in exploring the challenges and joys.
