Program Design: Programs are customized to suit each school. Schools may choose a selection of the sample modules suggested below or request a program designed to cater to specific needs. Programs may be comprised modules from the various programs offered above. For instance a school may choose to offer a half-day program for general faculty and a half-day for ESL teachers. Requests for program suggestions are free of obligation and schools are invited to suggest alterations in the program if they feel it does not satisfy their needs. For further information on each of the areas of training please click on the relevant page above. Training Methods: Seminars and training sessions combine various modes of learning. Because schools often have many demands on continuing education time, some information is presented in short lectures but information packages are kept as concise as possible. Although it is assumed that faculty members are in intercultural situations and therefore able to apply theoretical learning in day-to-day situations, emphasis is on activities which encourage participation and personalize application. Where the program information requires personal learning, emphasis is on experiential learning. Much of our cultural programming takes place without our conscious awareness. For this reason it is critical that facts and concepts are linked to feelings and perceptions in intercultural learning. Learning is open-ended. Participants are given the tools and are encouraged to continue the learning process outside the seminar or workshop. Materials: All participants will receive a copy of basic course information and materials. Location: On site at the client school Cost: The basic cost of seminars is $ 400 for one day and $600 for two days plus travelling costs. Seminars taking place in Europe cost $1150 ( 1275) for two days. This fee includes material costs and travel expenses. For schools outside Europe travel costs are calculated separately. The minimum seminar duration is one day within Europe and two days outside Europe. Costs are lower if more than one school requests a seminar. |
